DIY Monthly Calendar Blackboard Wall Art

New year, New me. Did this little fun blackboard wall decal to motivate my boyfriend and I to workout daily. Haha we are trying to keep up our New Year's resolution to stay healthy and get fit for a wedding we are attending in April. Progress so far has been good! So for this project you will need some scissors, blackboard wall adhesive ( bought them online for really cheap, TIP: get the one with the grids on the back to make measuring and cutting much easier. ), and some chalk.

The results! We have a textured wall so it was a bit hard to write on (hence the sloppy handwriting). Have fun!!!

DIY Abstract Geometric Panel Wall Art

Alright, I'm pretty excited to share what I finished this week. I've built these wood panels for some time now and I've finally got some time to do this project to get some color going in my room. You can use any size fabric canvas or wooden canvas for this DIY. Since mine is a wooden panel, I used 2 coats of gesso to prime the base white.

After it is completely dry, (best if it's dryed overnight) use some 1/4" tape to cover the canvas. This doesn't have to be perfect, go crazy with it. It will still turn out pretty cool.
I used cheap craft acrylic water based paint and covered random pieces on the canvas. My paint is streaky so I did 2 coats, make sure it's completely dried before applying 2nd coat.

Then filled in the remainding shapes with another color, I chose a gray color to balance it out with the green. Applied 2 coats as well.

Lastly, this is my favorite part, carefully peel off the tape up and away from the canvas.

The final results. I'm super excited to get these hanging on the wall! Hope you all have as much fun as I did doing this DIY. Have a great weekend.

DIY Despicable Me Minion Keychain

Hello all, I decided to start my first blog post with something I worked on for the past few days.  It's a cute little project that can be used as a keychain or ornament decorations. All materials needed can be found at your local craft store. I happen to go to Michaels to pick mine up since it's just down the street.

I did use some cotton stuffing for these minions just because it makes them look more puffy and cute. As I finished the first one, I couldn't help but makes his buddies too! I did spend a good few hours making each minion and although my sewing is a bit rusty, it was a fun little project. Happy New Year!
